Things You Should Know

If you call somebody and hang up before they answer, you'll see "Cancelled Call" in your iPhone's call logs.
Only the person who initiates the call will see "Cancelled Call" in their call logs.
The person receiving the call would see "Missed Call" only if the call actually connected.

Why do I see "Cancelled Call?"

You disconnected the call quickly before it connected. If you called somebody and hung up before they answered (or before their voicemail engaged), the call will appear as "Cancelled" in your call logs.
- If you cancel the call by hanging up quickly, the person you called will see "Missed Call" in their call logs if the call went through and rang at least once.
- If you hang up before the other party's network registered the call, they may not see your call in their logs at all.
- Similarly, if you hear a busy signal and hang up, you'll see "Cancelled Call" in your call log.
- It's easy to accidentally call someone when you're looking at their Contact info. A misplaced tap can start a call you didn't mean to make. If you immediately hang up, you'll see "Cancelled Call" in your call log, but the other person will see "Missed Call."

Open the Phone app on your iPhone

Tap Recent. It's at the bottom of the screen next to an icon of a clock.

Tap the info button next to the caller's name
. The 'Info' icon looks like a circled "i" that's to the right of the caller's name in the call log.
- You'll be able to see details of that call, including whether it was cancelled.
- You can also see if they have made repeated cancelled calls to you.

Does a cancelled call mean it was declined?

"Cancelled Call" does not mean that the other person declined your call. You will only see "Cancelled Call" if you hang up quickly. If the other person presses the Decline button when you call and you're quickly transferred to voicemail, the call won't be cancelled unless you disconnect very fast.
