Did you get a replacement earbud or new case for your AirPods? You'll have to set up the new AirPod or case so you can use it normally. It isn't a difficult process, and this wikiHow article will show you how.
Steps
-
1Forget your AirPods from Bluetooth Settings in the connected device. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and forget your AirPods on your iPhone, iPad, Android phone/tablet, Mac, or Windows computer.
- This ensures that your previous settings for your AirPods aren't saved for your new AirPod.
-
2Put both your AirPods inside your case. Whether you got a new AirPod or case, you'll need to perform the same steps to ensure everything is synced and working correctly.Advertisement
-
3Open the case's lid and check the status light, which should flash amber. If it's a color other than amber, make sure you don't have anything (like your computer, phone, laptop, or TV) paired with your AirPods.
-
4Press and hold the button on the back of the case until the light flashes white. This process also resets your AirPods and your case.[1]
- If the light still flashes amber, charge the case for about 20 minutes (connect the case to power and close the lid). After about 20 minutes, try pressing and holding the button on the back of your case again to see if the light flashes white.
- Once the light flashes white, your AirPods are synced and ready to use. Your charger will also work as expected after this process.
- You can then pair them with any device (like an Apple TV, Android, or iPhone).
