Using the Instagram App for Android

    Launch the Instagram app. It’s the purple, pink, and orange icon with a white camera inside. Log in to your account, if you haven't already done so.

    Open your profile tab. Tap on your profile icon, at the lower right corner of the app to open the profile tab.

    Tap on the menu. This will be located at the top-right corner of the app.

    Select Settings from the menu panel. It's the last option on the list. This will open the “Settings” tab.

    Tap on the Security option. You will see this option under the “Privacy” settings.

    Move to the “Data and History” title. Tap on the Access Data option and wait for the page to finish loading.

    Scroll down to the “Connections” title. Tap the View All link next to the “Current follow requests” option.

    Finished. You can now see the list of people you have requested to follow. If you want to cancel a follow request, copy the username from the list and search for the user on Instagram. Unfollow the user to cancel the pending request.

    Log in to Instagram. Open www.instagram.com in your web browser and log in with your account.

    No. If your account is set to private, there's no way to disable follow requests. You could change your username to something very different and use a non-identifying profile picture if you don't want anyone searching for you.
