Steps

1Open Instagram. On your device, go to the Instagram app.
- This method will work for the Instagram app on any mobile device.

2Go to your profile. Once in the Instagram app, you will see an icon of your profile photo in the bottom right corner of the screen. Tap on this icon to access your profile.
- If you haven't set a profile photo yet, you will see an icon of a person in the bottom right corner of the app instead. Click on this icon to go to your profile.

3Tap on the three lines. You will find this icon at the top right corner of your profile. This action will pull up a menu of options.

4Go to Settings. From the menu, click on the settings option listed at the top.

5Tap Account. This action will take you to a list of options related to your account settings.

6Go to Contacts syncing. In this section, you will be able to toggle on contacts syncing.

7Turn on connect contacts. Click on the toggle to turn on syncing contacts. This will connect your device's contacts to your Instagram account.[1]
- If you turn on connect contacts, you will be able to see a list of your contact's Instagram accounts, and they will be notified that you are on Instagram.
