Since Uber Eats officially launched in Australia in 2016, it’s expanded service to 18 cities across the country.[1] While the app and service are fairly user-friendly, you still might be confused about some things and need to contact customer service. Uber Eats doesn't currently have a customer service number set up in Australia, but the app makes getting assistance very simple. With the Help option, you can receive quick responses to your questions and problems.

Method 1
Method 1 of 2:

Communicating through the App

  1. 1
Open the Uber Eats app on your phone. Uber Eats has a help option within the app that allows you to conveniently contact customer service. Start by opening the app and reaching your home screen.[2]
    • The Uber Eats app is different from the regular Uber app, so you’ll have to download that first. You can sign-in to Uber Eats with the same login information as you use for your regular Uber app.
    • Uber Eats will automatically use the payment option on your regular Uber account if you sign in with your Uber credentials. Remember to change this option if you want to use a different payment method.
  2. 2
Click on the “Account” tab in the lower-right corner. On the bottom of the home screen, there is a bar with 4 options. The furthest option on the right is a person icon marked “Account.” Tap this icon to open your account options.[3]

  3. 3
Select “Help” from the menu options. When you open your account options, the third option down is marked “Help.” Press that tab to see the help options.[4]
    • From the account screen, you can also manage other options like your delivery address, payment options, and favorite restaurants.
  4. 4
Choose the help topic that matches your problem. The help menu has 4 options: Help with an order, Account and Payment Options, Guide to Uber Eats, and Uber Rewards. Choose the one that matches your inquiry the closest for help.[5]
    • The most common choice is Help with an order, so if you have a particular problem, choose this option. Pick Account and Payment Options to change your payment method on an order.
    • For general inquiries, pick Guide to Uber Eats. This opens an FAQ-style menu without putting you in contact with customer service.
    • If one of your rewards codes didn’t apply to an order, then press Uber Rewards.
  5. 5
Pick the order that you’re having a problem with. If you’re contacting Uber Eats because of a problem with an order, click Help with an order. This brings you to a menu of all your past orders. Select the one that you want to speak with customer service about.[6]
    • If you have a problem with a particular order and want a refund, you have 7 days to request one after receiving the order. After that, you’re not eligible for a refund.
    • You can also pick a different help option if your problem isn’t with an order.
  6. 6
Describe your problem or issue. When you pick an order, you can describe the issue in a textbox. Be as specific as possible so customer service reps can handle your problem effectively.[7]
    • For example, don’t just say “My order was missing items.” Instead, say “We ordered 3 boxes of chicken nuggets and only received 2.”
  7. 7
Wait for a response from Uber customer service. Once you submit your inquiry, Uber customer service will begin working on it. Responses are usually quick since customer service reps can view the details of your order. They’ll respond to your inquiry through the app text messenger. If you aren’t happy with the answer, then you can text back and forth until the problem is resolved.[8]

Method 2 of 2:

Using Other Contact Options

  1. 1
Email Uber Eats if you prefer to send messages privately. If you prefer to contact Uber support off the app, then send them an email. This way, you can provide a more detailed description of your problem or comment. Uber Eats’ help email address is eats@uber.com. In the email, state your Uber Eats username, when the order was placed, and what you ordered. Then, be specific about what the problem with the order was, and how you'd like Uber to address it.[9]
    • If you don’t contact Uber through their app, then the customer service rep won’t have access to your order history. Be specific about the order so they can assist you, and include your contact information and username.
    • Don’t include sensitive information like credit card numbers.
    • Note that emails could take a few days to answer. If you need help quickly, contact them through the app.
  2. 2
Tweet at @Uber_Support if other contacts don’t work. If you haven’t received any helpful responses from Uber, you could try contacting them on social media. The Twitter page @Uber_Support handles customer complaints, so tweet at this account to see if you can get Uber’s attention this way.[10]
    • The Uber Eats Twitter doesn't have direct messaging set up, so you'll have to send a public tweet.
    • Remember that Uber may not see your tweet, so if you need specific help, contact them through the app or via email.
    • Using social media is helpful if you have a complaint. Companies want to maintain a good public image, and responding to public complaints quickly is good for reputation.
  3. 3
Look for an answer on Uber’s website if you don't want to contact Uber directly. Uber Eats operates an FAQ page on this support website. If you don’t want to contact Uber directly but still have a question, then the answer may be here. Check the help page and see if you can resolve your issue.[11]

Warnings

  • If you do have food allergies, double check the order before you eat it.

  • If you have food allergies, put them in the "allergy" field of your order instead of in the special instructions section. Restaurants are more likely to see this restriction if it's in the allergy section.[12]
