How to Stream Hulu on Discord using Windows and Mac

Are you trying to stream Hulu for your friends on Discord? You can share your screen with others as long as you're using a computer. If you're having issues with a black screen, this may be due to copyright protections with the Hulu app on a mobile device. After adding your browser to your Discord games, you'll be able to broadcast Hulu to your server. This wikiHow will show you how to stream Hulu movies and shows on Discord using your Windows or Mac computer.

Things You Should Know

You can only stream Hulu using your computer with the Discord desktop application or website.
Open Hulu in a web browser. Add your browser to Discord in "Settings" → "Registered Games" → "Add it!".
Navigate to a server, click the monitor icon, then "Go Live".

Log into https://www.hulu.com/ in a web browser. It's recommended to use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
- If you don't have an account, you'll need to create one.

Navigate to a video you want to watch. Use the search bar at the top of the page or select a category to browse the selection.
- Select a movie, television show, or live TV broadcast.

Turn off your browser's Hardware Acceleration. This can be found in your browser's system settings.
- For Google Chrome, click ⋮ in the top-right corner. Click Settings → System → toggle off Use hardware acceleration when available.
- If you don't have this option, skip this step.

Open the Discord app. Discord is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.^{[1]

- You can also stream Hulu using Discord in your browser at https://discord.com/.

. This will be at the bottom-left corner, next to Unmute and Deafen.

Click Voice & Video. You can find this underneath Accessibility in the left panel.

Toggle off
"Hardware Acceleration". This will be underneath the Advanced header. You may need to scroll to find this option.

Click Registered Games. This will be underneath the Activity Settings header in the left panel.

Click the drop-down menu and select your browser. In some cases, your browser will be named as your active tab.

Click Add Game. This is the blue button. Discord will register your browser as a game.
- Exit the window by pressing Esc on your keyboard or by clicking the X in the top-right corner.

Navigate to a server. Use an existing server or create a new one for streaming movies and shows.

Click the monitor icon. You can find this above your username at the bottom-left.
- A pop-up window will open.

Select your stream settings. You'll be able to choose the voice channel, resolution, and framerate. If you have Discord Nitro, you'll be able to stream in higher quality.

Click Go Live. This is the blue button on the bottom of the window. Your stream will begin.
- You can wait for other users to join your stream.

On your web browser, click play on your video. Your video will begin streaming to your Discord server.
- If you're having trouble streaming, try to refresh discord. You may need to reinstall Discord.
