Installing WhatsApp on Your Phone

    Install WhatsApp on a mobile device. To use WhatsApp Web, you must download the app on a mobile device. Read How to Download WhatsApp for details.

    Tap the on the top-right corner of your page. On your mobile device, you'll find three vertical dots. Click that and find "WhatsApp Web" written on a page.

    Click "WhatsApp Web". Click the "WhatsApp Web" option which will open a page that tells you to scan your page.

Connecting it to Your Desktop

    Go to https://web.whatsapp.com/. Click the link on your browser. You'll find a sub-page that has a Quick Response code.

    Scan the code. Scan the code with your phone. It will then redirect you to the logged-in version of the website.

    Use the app. Using the app is a lot simpler than it may seem in the beginning.

    If your phone is out of battery, is powered off, or isn't near you, you can still use WhatsApp Web as long as your device has internet.

Using WhatsApp Web

    Find your contacts on the left. To message other people, there's a column on the left, just like in the app on the phone.
    • You can use the search bar on top to start a new conversation or find one of your contacts.
    • Once you are in your chat box, you can click the on the top right of the screen near the **search box** to change your settings with the person that you're texting.

    Tip: An easy way to add emojis to your texts quicker is by adding a colon (:) and typing what you're looking for. For example, you can do :smile: and then find emojis that has a smile.

    Click the on the top-left of your screen on your panel. Click the three vertical dots to access certain settings as given below.

    Click 'New Group'. If you want to make a new WhatsApp group, click "New group". This feature lets you make a group having up to 1024 members. Once you click it, you will find a search bar that will help you add participants.
    • Click on the contacts you want in your group and then click the -> sign.
    • Add a group icon, name, and description per your liking.

    Click 'New Community'. This feature helps you club up to 50 groups to form a community.
    • You can add a Community Name, group icon and select groups of your preference.

    Click on Starred Messages. This can help sum down your messages just to the ones that you've starred for future reference.

    Click Settings. When you click settings, you will find several changes you can make to use the website more personal, such as your theme, and wallpaper, or fix your notifications, verify your privacy, and more.

    Click 'Log Out' if you choose to leave your webpage. If you don't click 'Log Out', you'll be logged in the next time you access the page.

    Click the three curved lines that form a loading sign on the top-left next to the chatbox. This will help you view your registered contacts' statuses.

    Click on your profile to change your profile settings. Here, you can change your displayed name, your profile picture, and your 'About Me'. This will be displayed to everyone who views your profile, regardless of whether you have them saved in your contacts.
