We've all had a day when regular skin-colored concealer just wouldn't cover a giant red pimple that popped up overnight. If your normal makeup isn't doing the trick, try a makeshift remedy that uses green eyeshadow to mask particularly stubborn blemishes. Don't worry - this method won't have you looking like the Grinch! See step 1 below to get started.
Steps
-
1Dab a little bit of Vaseline onto your pimple to reduce the redness. This step is optional.
-
2Load a cotton swab with your dark green eyeshadow and completely cover your pimple. And yes, this does mean that you will have a giant green spot on your face, but we'll take care of that.
- If you have a very fair skin or rosacea, the green tone might not work very well. In this case, try covering the pimple with a yellow tone.[1]

3Cover the eyeshadow with face powder to set it.
-
4Dab (don't rub) your flesh-colored concealer over the pimple. The area will probably still have a slight greenish color. For best results, use an opaque concealer.[2]
-
5Take a new cotton swab, dip it in makeup remover, and clean up the area around your pimple.
-
6Dab another layer of concealer over the pimple to take care of the rest of the green color.
-
7Finish with your regular makeup routine. If necessary, you can add another layer of concealer after you put on your foundation.
-
8Make sure to set the makeup over your pimple with powder!
Warnings
- Make sure you wash your face before you go to bed because all the makeup on your pimple can clog your pores more and make the pimple worse.⧼thumbs_response⧽
- Try not to touch the pimple with your fingers. This can spread bacteria to the area and make it worse.⧼thumbs_response⧽
