How to Make a Gradient in Paint.Net With the Gradient Tool

There is always more than one way to skin a cat and that saying really goes with gradients. To make a gradient using the gradient tool, makes it a little fun as well.

    Open a new image. 800 X 600 is a good size to begin with until you learn the process.

    Click on the gradient tool icon .

    Choose the mode that you need. The color mode allows you to choose the beginning and end color and the effect is solid. The transparent mode works along the same line as creating a mask.
