Reddit is an American social news aggregation, web content rating, and discussion website. Registered members submit content to the site such as links, text posts, and images, which are then voted up or down by other members. You might've stumbled across this website before or heard it mentioned, but at first contact, you may have felt lost and slightly out of touch. This wikiHow will teach you all the fundamentals you need to know when joining the massive community that is referred to as the front page of the front page of the internet.

Things You Should Know

Create an account to upload your own posts, comment, and up/down vote others' posts.
Browse and subscribe to subreddits. These are pages dedicated to specific topics where users can share posts and links and comment on each others' posts.
View and engage with individual posts. Click the title of a post to comment, upvote, downvote, and engage with other users about the post.

Using Reddit on a Computer

Navigate to the Reddit homepage using your preferred browser. There you will be greeted with a welcoming message, as well as the most popular posts in your area.

Know how to view individual posts. To view individual posts, click the title of the post. Depending on the content of the post, you will either be taken to a different site/article the post is linking to or you'll be directed to the post-page on the subreddit the post was submitted to, where you can read the text post or view the image post.
- On the post-page, you can read comments, and once you've created your account, you can upvote (like), downvote, and reply other people's comments or write your own comments on the post.

Understand what a subreddit is. A subreddit is a forum dedicated to a specific topic where you can post links, create posts or discuss other people's posts. Once you've created your Reddit account, you can subscribe to specific subreddits if you like their topics, or you can unsubscribe if you don't.

Create an account. Click on sign up and follow the steps presented to you.
- Insert your email address.
- Subscribe to the recommended subreddits that interest you. (Don't worry, you'll be able to subscribe to other subreddits later.)
- Choose your username and password.
  - For your username, pick something fun that you won't regret, as you won't be able to change it later.
  - As for your password, it's recommended to be at least 16 characters long and include both uppercase and lowercase letters, as well as numbers and symbols.
- Check the "I'm not a robot" box.

Create a post.
- Go to the home page.
- Click on Submit a new link or Submit a new text post, depending on the content of your post.
- Enter your title, insert the content of the post and select a place (subreddit) to post to.
- Check the "I'm not a robot" box.
- Click Submit and you're finished.

Download the official Reddit app on the App Store or Play Store.

Create your account or log in to an already existing account.
