1Stock up on Ultra Balls. These are the best kind of Pokéballs. They have the highest rate of catching Pokémon (out of the standard three Pokéballs).

2Go to Granite Cave. This is the place where you met Steven.Advertisement

3Search until an Abra pops up. A wild Abra's only move is Teleport, so you have to catch it on your first try or it will Teleport out of the battle.

4After you caught it, level your Abra up to level 16. It will then evolve into Kadabra.

5Trade your Kadabra onto a different game cartridge. This can be your friend's, another one of yours, or someone else's (that you trust). After Kadabra is traded, it will evolve into Alakazam. Trade it back to your game cartridge.

QuestionI put my Abra in a daycare place to raise it and it's level 24. It didn't evolve like it says it's supposed to at level 16, why is that?
Community AnswerThe daycare seems to only give EXP, it will not evolve anything for you. My friend told me this when I tried to do the same with a Magikarp which evolves at level 20. I pulled him out at level 19 and had no problem once I trained it myself to level 20. -

Metagross comes close too, though it's only available after you defeat the Elite 4. Grumpig is subpar, along with Chimecho. In Emerald, you're best off with Gardevoir or Metagross!
