How to Disable a VPN on Android

Using the VPN App

    Open your VPN app. If you’re using a certain app to connect to the VPN, tap its icon in the app drawer to launch it now.

    Tap Disconnect. This might also display as an X, depending on the app you’re using. A pop-up confirmation may appear.

    Tap Disconnect to confirm. The wording on this may vary, but you’ll typically have to confirm before you’ll be disconnected from the server.

Using your Android’s Settings

    Open your Android’s Settings
    Android 7 Settings
    .     You’ll usually find it in the app drawer. It may also be at the top-right corner of the notification panel.

    Tap Network and Internet. On some versions of Android, tap you may have to tap ⋯ More under the “Wireless & Networks” header instead.

    Tap the settings icon next to your VPN. This could be three dots or a gear icon, depending on your Android.

    Slide the VPN’s switch to the Off
    Android 7 Switch Off
    position.     This disconnects you from the VPN.
    • To permanently remove the VPN from your Android, select Forget VPN.
