1v1ing someone is the practice used to settle internet disputes or to determine who is the better player, usually brought up after one person is called out by another. Go to step one to find out how to 1v1 someone.
Steps
Method 1
Method 1 of 2:
Sniper 1v1
-
1Find an opponent. This should be the easy part, as people are always saying they want to 1v1 people to prove they are good at a game. Making an emblem or a clan tag that says 1v1? is an easy way to find players.
-
2Go into Custom Game. This may be called Private Match depending on what Call of Duty you are playing. Edit the custom classes and restrict everything except the bolt action sniper rifles and perks. Turn the health to 30% and the kill cam off.
- Some people like having a throwing knife or tomahawk in their class, as using it is considered equivalent to sniping and opponent.
- If you want to be able to trickshot last, you are going to need to leave some weapons on for trickshotting, or set up the preset classes to be able to trickshot.

3Choose your map. The smallest maps in the game are used for 1v1ing, the list includes
- Modern Warfare - Shipment
- World At War - Makin
- Modern Warfare 2 - Rust
- Black Ops - Nuketown
- Modern Warfare 3 - Dome
- Black Ops II - Nuketown 2025
- Ghosts - Octane
- Advanced Warfare - Solar
- Black Ops III - Nuketown
-
4Spawntrap your enemy. Most of the maps mentioned have a way of killing the enemy repeatedly as soon as they spawn. When you get the location and timing of when to shoot down, beating your opponent should be a breeze.
-
5Keep track of your record. Have a piece of paper or an emblem that has your Win/Loss Ratio; it's no fun to play competitively if you don't have a way of knowing how good you are doing.

Method 2
Method 2 of 2:
Regular Gunning
-
1Pick your weapon. You should obviously go for the gun you are best with. However some guns are obviously over-powered, so use your best judgement on which gun to use.
-
2Edit the game settings. Turn off all tactical and lethal. Also, put it on a map mentioned above and adjust the time limit to infinite, and the score cap to you and your opponent's liking
-
3Jumpshot and Dropshot. The jump shot is the act of jumping while in a gunfight in the hopes that it will make you a harder target to hit. Dropshotting is where you quickly go to prone in a gunfight, to again, make you a harder to target to hit. Don't forget to adjust your aim when doing this.
-
4Prefire. This has a lot to do with experience, knowing common places people like to go and shooting before you actually see the person guarantees you the kill if you are right about where they are.
-
5Use head glitches. Contrary to what the name would suggest, this is not a glitch, but a mere tactic in which you can see your enemy, but he can only see the top of your head. This is good against amateur players, but if your opponent is a veteran, this will make it easier to kill since your head is easily shot at.
