How to Play Nitro Type

Nitro Type is a free, competitive typing game where players compete in mini drag-race typing tests while improving their keyboarding speed and accuracy. Keyboarding is an essential skill that can help you throughout your school years and possibly your job. With fast typing skills, it will take you less time to complete your work. You're learning and having fun at the same time! Nitro Type can be used by everyone whether you're in a classroom or at home. This article will help you how to get started.

Getting Started

Go to https://www.nitrotype.com. Nitro Type is to be used on a laptop or a computer. If you're using a phone, you can log in, but you cannot type when you enter a race. On the top right-hand corner, you will see a Log In and a Sign Up. Choose the sign-up button and make an account.
- You can play as a guest, but your races will not be saved. Create an account to start racing with real players.

Create your account. You can create an account by using your Google, Clever, or Facebook account. If you don't want to use any of these, you can just create a username and password. The email is optional, but it can help you if you forget your password.
- As you create this account, you are agreeing that you are 13 years of age or older, or are being directed to sign up by your teacher or guardian who has agreed to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Check out your account. You will be starting off with a rental car and your title will be "Raw Racing Recruit" which is located under your username. You will also start out with $10,000.
- Mystery boxes are your daily rewards system. You can claim it every 21 hours to earn Cash, XP, or Nitros.

Explore the tabs above. There are several tabs representing different purposes. They are described as follows:
- Garage will be your homepage.
- Seasons will give you rewards when you win enough races.
- Dealership will show you all the cars you can buy.
- Friends will show you your friends; if they are active or offline and how long ago they were last seen. It will also include your teammates.
- Team lets you create or join a team which then you can compete with other teams.
- Achievements will show you the list of achievements you completed and what needs to be completed. This also is where you can earn titles and rewards.
- Leaderboards shows you the top racers and top teams for each season or for each day.
- News will show you about the new things going on or what's soon to happen.

Hover your mouse over your username on the top right-hand corner. When you do this, you will see My Settings, My Status, My Public Profile, Support, and Logout. This is just some additional information about your account.

Start the qualifying race. You will have to do this before you start any real races. It will show you what your speed is, and you get to pick a free starter car. Choose between the Minnie Cooper, Jeepers Rubicon, and Misoux Lion.

Wait until there are five players before the race begins. Right before the race begins, the words you need to type will appear. Wait until the light turns green before you start typing. In each race you enter, you get one nitro. Each nitro equals one word. As you win races, you will earn money and nitros, which can be used to buy new cars.

Race with your friends. Invite up to 4 other racers to start your race. It also features chat functions where you can talk to each other. There are only a limited of things to say due to restrictions in schools.

Purchase a Gold account if you'd like. Nitro Type is free to use, but you can purchase an ad-free premium Gold account which starts at $9.99. Some perk examples are, receiving an extra 20% bonus cash every race, receiving an epic car called the XCelsior, a year of season rewards, and many more.

Switch to Nitro Track HD. This is similar to the original but with higher detail graphics, 3D elements, animations, a dynamic crowd, particle effects, a new countdown, an animated Wampus, and more. To enable (or disable) Nitro Track HD, just click the toggle button in the top left corner of your screen.

I just want cars but I am broke and have no cars. Any tips?

In Nitro Type, you cannot trade cars or just give cars out - those need to be earned. But maybe in future updates trading or just giving our cars will come out. For now, you can send cash to other players and with that cash, you can buy things in the dealership or buy things in the shop. There are new limits to sending cash, 10,000,000 a week and for content creators and teams, 50,000,000 and more.

I don't know why but when I try to type in my first race all it does is highlight the first letter and does not let me type any more?

This could mean that you missed a word, or you messed up while typing. When this happens, you have to retype the word where the highlighted letter starts. Another possibility is that the game glitched. Restart the game and see if it happens again.

I have a team but want to know how to start a team race?

You can't just do a friends race and invite teammates. Your teammates are people who have the team tag that you have EX: (ASMSHRK) and then their name.
