Just Dance 2 is an entertaining video game that is both enjoyable and great for exercising! There are over 40 songs to dance to on Just Dance 2, and they are all enjoyable. No, you don't have to be a professional dancer or even take a dance class to be good at the game. It is definitely not a hard game to play, but it requires practice to be good. Here are some simple ways to get better at Just Dance 2.

Steps

  1. 1
Warm up. This may seem silly to do for just a video game, but you'd be surprised by how tiring it gets. Before certain songs, you should certainly stretch your arms and your legs, and maybe your wrists, fingers, and neck, too. You don't have to, but it's a great idea to do so.
    • You can also copy the person warming up by selecting "Warm Up" from the "Extras" menu.
  2. 2
Make sure you are wearing the right clothes. Anything comfortable will work fine, like gym shorts and a tank top, or a T-shirt. For girls with long hair, tie your hair back or up. As long as you aren't wearing anything tight, long, or layered, you'll be good.

  3. 3
Learn the rules of the game. Pick a song you like or one that looks cool. There are many songs to choose from. If you are playing with more than one person, press "A" on a Wii Remote to add them. You'll start to play. All you have to do is copy the person dancing. Many times the moves are simple hand motions, spinning, or something like that. The moves repeat themselves many times. To know when to change moves, a small figure called a pictogram will appear at the bottom of the screen, showing you the next move.
    • Leg and foot motions are not required, because the Wii Remote can only sense your hand. However, it's still fun to do!
  4. 4
Know how you are scored. The goal is to get the most points. At each move, you can get an "X," an "OK," a "Good," or a "Perfect." An "X" means you didn't really get the move. "OK" means you're not quite there, but you tried. "Good" means almost there! And "Perfect" means you did an awesome job on the move.
    • Some moves, represented with golden pictograms at the bottom, are called "Gold Moves." Every song has at least one, and many songs have several gold moves. A gold move is a special dance move, and it may or may not be harder than a regular move. Gold Moves only have two scorings, depending on whether or not you perform the move properly: "YEAH!" and "X." If you get a "YEAH!" you'll get lots of points, so pay attention when they come up!
  5. 5
Try Duet Mode. In Duet Mode, there are two dancers on-screen instead of one. This involves players paying more attention to their co-partner, rather than just the screen.
  6. 6
Try Dance Battle Mode. "Dance Battle" is a game mode that features up to 8 players, all taking turns with their Wii Remotes. Players can divide into teams or compete with one another in a variety of mini-games.
  7. 7
Try Non-Stop Shuffle. In Non-Stop Shuffle (located just before the first song in the tracklist, next to Medleys), songs will play in random order, one after the other, without going back to the menu.
  8. 8
Try Just Sweat Mode. In "Just Sweat" mode, players are awarded "Sweat Points" as they play, as a measure of how much they've worked out while playing the game. The mode only supports one player at a time, but each player's profile can save Just Sweat data. You can also set a goal of how many Sweat Points you'd like to earn for yourself.

Community Q&A

  • Question
How do I choose which dancer I want to be for a duet song?

    Community Answer
You can't change that on Just Dance 2, sadly. However, because P1 and P3 always get the left dancer, and P2 and P4 always get the right one, you can simply hook up another Wii Remote and set it on the table to play alone as the dancer on the right.
  • Question
I notice that the modes are also on Just Dance: Summer Party. Will the steps above work for that as well?

Yes. Just Dance Summer Party will have the same modes as listed in the article since it is similar.
