Always wanted a Crobat in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire but couldn't figure out how to get one? That's because you can't catch a Crobat in the wild, and they don't level up like most other Pokemon. That said, Crobats are easy to get with a little patience.
Steps
-
1Know that Crobats come from Zubats/Golbats with maxed out happiness. You can evolve a Crobat by maxing out your Golbat's friendship quotient. You must evolve your Zubat to a Golbat before you can get a Crobat.
- Zubat evolves into Golbat at level 22.[1]
-
2Catch a Zubat or Golbat. They can be caught in several caves around the land, or you can trade one over from another game. If you catch the Pokémon in a Luxury Ball it will have a higher starting friendship score, making it easier to evolve into Golbat. Some places to look include:
- Cave of Origin Entrance
- Granite Cave ( Zubat Only )
- Meteor Falls Entrance
- Seafloor Cavern
- Shoal Cave
- Victory Road

3Evolve your Zubat into Golbat if you started with one. Through normal battling and training, or by leaving it at the Daycare, bring your Zubat to level 22, then evolve it. Once you have a Golbat you can get a Crobat.
- Your friendship score with the Zubat will carry over when it evolves, so you can get a head start on your Zubat by capturing it in a Luxury Ball and treating it well.
-
4Raise your Golbat's happiness as high as possible. Happiness, also known as friendship, raises when you accomplish certain tasks with the Pokémon in your party. The easiest ways to raise your Golbat's happiness quickly are:
- Gaining a level.
- Assigning a Soothe Ball for them to hold.
- Giving them vitamins.
- Walking 256 steps with them in your party.
- Using Pomeg Berry, Kelpsy Berry, Qualot Berry, Hondew Berry, Grepa Berry, and Tamato Berry.
- Letting your Pokémon faint or using herbs, powders, and roots will all lower your happiness score.[2]
-
5Once its happiness has reached the maximum level, it will evolve into a Crobat. Congratulations- you now have that Crobat you wanted!
- This requires a friendship score of 220 or higher, though you can't check this directly.
