Eagles are large and powerful birds. They have large hooked beaks for tearing flesh from their prey. This tutorial will show you how to draw eagles.
Steps
An Eagle Sitting on a Branch
-
1Make an outline for the head and the body of the eagle. Draw a circle for the head, an upright quadrilateral for the neck and a big oblong for the body. As for the beak, attach a smaller quadrilateral on the head and a slanted triangle.
-
2Draw an outline of a branch below the oblong.Advertisement
-
3Attach two smaller oblongs on the branch. They will serve as the eagle’s feet. Add a rectangle below the body to make the tail.
-
4Draw details on the head, like the eyes and feathers.
-
5Sketch the wings on the body of the eagle delicately.
-
6Add claws to the eagle’s feet.
-
7Draw feathers on the tail.
-
8Erase unnecessary lines and color as desired.
A Flying Eagle
-
1Draw the body of the eagle. Make a small circle for the head and attach an oblong to the circle to serve as the body. Insert a pentagon in between the two shapes. Add a small quadrilateral and a little triangle to the head to represent the beak.
-
2Draw two slanted shapes on each side of the body for the wings.
-
3Add more detailed shapes on each of the wings to make them more elaborate.
-
4Draw three quadrilaterals, one slightly bigger than the other two. Add two small circles for the feet.
-
5Add details to the head, like eyes and feathers. The feathers can be outlined using zigzag lines.
-
6Add details to the wings. This time make softer curved lines instead of zigzag lines for the feathers.
-
7Add more feathers to the wings.
-
8Sketch feathers to the body and tail.
-
9Add claws to the feet.
-
10Erase unnecessary lines and colour as desired.

-
4Draw two curves connecting the head to the body.
-
5Draw a triangle for the right wing and a large trapezoid for the left wing.
-
6Draw a series of ovals for the feet. Add pointed lines in the edges of the ovals to make the claws.
-
7Draw an irregular diamond below the body for the tail.
-
8Based on the outlines, draw the head and beak along with the eyes. Make pointed curves below the head to complete it.
-
9Complete the body and feet based from the outlines, darken necessary outlines and draw details.

About This Article
To draw an eagle, start by outlining an oval for the body and a circle slightly above it and to the right for the head. Next, connect the oval and circle with curved lines to create the eagle’s neck and add a rectangle to the side of the circle for a beak. Then, sketch in legs using ovals and add two semi-circles coming off the body for wings. Once you’ve finished the outline, fill in details like the feathers, tail, and facial features. Finally, erase the guidelines and color in your eagle. To learn how to draw an eagle sitting on a branch, read on!
