There are a ton of restaurants out there, but not all of them are the same. You need to find out which restaurant will be the best for you and then secure a job at that specific location. It's much harder than blanketing resumes across town, but it is much more rewarding.

1Build a creative and attractive resume. You want it to stand out enough that the managers will remember you, but be subtle enough that it still looks like a resume.

2Pick the top 5 restaurants you would want to work at. Go in to each restaurant during the busiest times and look at the customers and the servers and get a feel for the demographic.Advertisement

3Ask the staff members what it is like to work there and how the management is to work for.

4Bring in your resume during the least busy hours (best time is between lunch and dinner shift at 3:00 - 4:00) and get it into the hands of a manager, not a host.

5Get an interview on the spot, or

6Continue to come in and make an appearance twice a week to get your face recognized.
